Life of a prefect
I have three papers due end of this month but I have 3 more weeks so haih, chillax first lah. I’m currently juggling between chatting with random people online, reading for my class, watching drama and checking out updates from the website I said where they post ‘secrets’. I’m so good seriously *looks at self in a different light wtf
Anyway I don’t know what to blog about since I update so frequently these days..hmm oh this is a very old story but I just remembered it! Last year I think, my sis got into an accident near Sunway Pyramid. The car in front of her braked suddenly so she had to brake too and after like 3 seconds, the car behind her hit her and she saw that the guy was on the phone. So she got down, rolled up her sleeves and demanded for an explanation. (my sis is seriously very brave one) (younger sis..who is also taller than me heh heh)
Ok so she went down and asked the guys (two of them) to come down too. The guys then scolded her for braking so suddenly and refused to admit it was their fault. My very very brave sister then said “OI do you want me to report this to the police and say you are both drunk?? Bang me already somemore say my fault!” Seriously my sister was damn good lah! Ok still got a lot more. So the guys got scared hahaha cause scared my sister really will accuse them of being drunk. Then my sister said this:
“ok I give you 3 choices” (MY SISTER IS MY HERO SERIOUSLY why she not scared at all some more can think of 3 choices one!!)
“1. I’ll make a police report, they catch you, you get jailed (her exact words were ‘you masuk lokap’ wtf), I’ll visit you and laugh at you”
“2. Pay me for my damage. or 3. make me angry and I’ll do both”
HAHAHHAHA SHE’S DAMN GOOD!!!
Anyway the damage doesn’t look bad and the guys only had RM100 with them so they paid her that much. She didn’t ask for their numbers which was a mistake cause upon further inspection, the damage cost around RM600 or so. Haih so like that lah we didn’t know about the insurance policy then so my mom had to pay the rest. But really, my sister is so cool ok!

Back in high school, I used to be a prefect. I wasn’t only a prefect, I was also coincidentally a very bossy person and so I was a very bossy prefect. Everyone hates a bossy prefect don’t they? Well I’ve never really given this much thought but I guess I had a lot of enemies then T_____T I don’t know I didn’t really feel that way though! I had a lot of friends from different cliques in high school..maybe they were just pretending to be my friends wtf.
Anyway because I was in charge of managing all the prefects by assigning roles to them, so I had to be extra strict or else they’d climb unto me and manipulate me. I had to manage the students as well and since I had a lot of friends from different cliques and social strata wtf, this job was very hard for me. Telling a friend to go in front cause he doesn’t have a badge on is the worst job in the world. He’ll ask you to close one eye cause you’re his friend and when you refuse to do so (for fear that other students will request for that too), he’ll call you a traitor and hate you for life T___T
I know there are so many people who hate prefects but seriously we’re just doing our jobs. You really think I like asking people to go in front cause they don’t have a badge ar? You really think I like standing at the gate waiting for people who are late so I can reprimand them by asking them to pick up rubbish ar? Of course I rather be the one breaking all the rules and calling prefects dogs but I can’t cause I wanted to make my resume look better ok T___T haih burden of looking too far into the future wtf.
Some more forever cannot eat lunch in peace, have to rush out of class early and eat in 5 minutes and spend the rest of the recess going around making sure everything is in place. Not only that, sometimes the teachers were so fierce so we didn’t dare to ask if we can be excused so we’d have to skip lunch altogether T_______T eh seriously life as a prefect is so sucky ok! sometimes all the prefects in my class damn coward then will organize a coup to get poor ME to be the scapegoat. i guess cause everyone knew I rather get scolded than skipping lunch kua damn smart hahahah
eh not only that ok! (i’m on a roll wtf) Prefects have to arrive in school 10 minutes earlier than everyone else so we can ring the bell (now you know who’s the person behind the mysterious school bell wtf), put up the flags etc etc. NOT ONLY THAT, when everyone is allowed to sit during the assembly, poor us have to stand behind all of you so we can monitor everyone not cause we like being hawks like that but cause this is all under strict orders from the principal T____T I think I can write a book on ‘the sad life of a prefect’ wtf. But there are ups of being a prefect like we can skip class whenever we want (if you have enough power to do so) and pretend that we have an urgent meeting hahaha. We can also do spot checks on students (that’s when I will choose the class where my crush is in to do the spot check hehehe)
I never liked being a prefect at all and even more so when there were just so much politics in it. Before I graduated from high school, my teacher told me that I was never chosen as the head prefect not because I wasn’t qualified to but hear this, cause I’m a girl.

She said the principal wanted a guy to strengthen our image and that the students will feel better having a guy as their leader.

Back then I didn’t think much of this though. I just nodded my head and went ‘orh orh quite true also” WTF mt holyoke would have been so disappointed that they chose such an unfeminist girl. Anyway then I asked her why didn’t she choose me as the assistant and haih the reason behind it was so political I don’t even want to mention it. But she also said I had too many responsibilities and it would be hard to prioritize. Not only that, I was also too emotional for my own good T_T haih emotional cannot meh I guess people without emotions will go further in life kua. People like me forever know how to get angry and cry only sure won’t go far in life one. Whole life sit at home and watch drama and get emotional over it only haih.
But despite my abundance of emotions wtf, I thought I was a very good leader though. Those were the days lah now I’m just a good for nothing, very quiet, ignorant and apathetic student here. I rather just go back into my room and do my work than speak for the rights of humans, women, animals, Tibetans, zombies wtf.
wah i just realized i wrote sooo long for an entry about prefects! i’m the champion lah ok goodnight.

haha ops! i was a prefect too before and err…i slipped the date of the spotchecks among my friends (and juniors who admired me) and sometimes helped to hide their stuff.

eh i feel your pain ok. i was a prefect in sekolah rendah and menengah. students called us ‘jugdeep’s army’ (jugdeep = discipline teacher) . haih. so teruk. but at least you did your job lah. i was the lousy prefect ok, if they wanted to eat in class, they had to belanja me one fish bun, then i’d hide under the table and eat with them in class. hahha.

I always wanted to be a prefect coz all my friends were prefects. Then I was stuck with this girl who used to follow me around all the time. Damn lame la. But then ur story reminds me of my bro. HAHAHA i was like jia meei, but i didn’t keep for them. i told my classmates when is the spotcheck and told them to hide the phones themselves cos we prefects will get checked too so we couldn’t hide the phones for them hahahaha.
If schools were run properly and with logic, the prefect’s job is totally redundant and useless.

OMG I was a prefect too! All the memories rushing back WTF. Especially the standing behind students during perhimpunan thing whilst everyone else is sitting, damn tiring ok! T_T And I was forced to stand on the stage and sing all the perhimpunan songs (negaraku, selangor song, school song and sejahtera malaysia WTF) and do all the ikrars ALL BY MYSELF on stage, damn malu! ‘Cause the uztazah hated me la, politics politics.

i remember being a prefect. it was fun to a certain extent, but yeah, the politics sucks and shouldn’t even existed. things we do for a nicer looking resume. we even go through the part where ppl actually call us teacher’s dogs. so sad.

sigh Suet..being a prefect is not easy. gotto attend meeting la, arrive at sch earlier than others la, and the worst part, gotto skip classes and miss the lessons. then when u back to the class, not guarantee ur classmates will help u revise the missed subjects!! damn…

I was a head prefect in my high school. We didn’t have this sort of ‘rule’ about the role having to go to a guy etc etc. =)

Yeah, I’m a student in the prefectorial board right now, and the politics is killing me.
In all the societies I’m in, politics in the board is so much more scarier than anywhere else. Those people in the board are the people you spend most of your time with, morning recess, after school, that when a disagreement happen it gets blown up into politics.
And oh, did I mention that we have to come about 30 minutes earlier everyday cause we have prefects’ morning assembly EVERYDAY and if you’re late for 5 seconds they make you do pumping?
And I’m like in human resource, so I’m one of the ones getting involved in planning all the cool-cool activities we have, and making the duty list, and managing the new-incoming juniors, among others.
And oh yeah, the impossible happened in my school. For the first time in it’s history (I think), the ketua pengawas is a GIRL. But there’s always a race and gender quota. Sigh.

board of prefects for me was like politics + love scandals = more politics! one junior prefect and the head boy had their eyes on the same girl and the girl ended up dating the head boy for like two weeks and then left for the junior prefect. probably self explanatory why both of them were not promoted throughout the two years in form 6! sad oh
i had a love+hate r’ship with the board. in school 30 mins early, leave school late, but it was still uber fun!xD
