Speaking of readers, I’m glad I have readers who take the time to send emails to me. Although I don’t have time to reply to all of you, I assure you that I have read ALL your emails (I am SUPERRR bad at replying emails). To make things easier, I’m compiling a list of all the common questions asked so hopefully if I forgot to reply your email, you can have your questions answered here.

Where is the rooftop garden??

Haha after my post about my date on the rooftop garden in KLIA, i guess it’s only expected that people want to know where that is. Well honestly, I do not know where it is. We’ve only been there once and that was an unexpected discovery too. We walked around, saw a sign that says ROOFTOP GARDEN, and we followed that sign. Before we reached the secluded garden, there was actually a sign that says DO NOT ENTER. But we did anyway wtf. That’s allll the info I can give you about it sorry!

Hi, sweat lee, I like your blog a lot. So I have this problem. I really like this guy for some time and he works with me/is my neighbour/is my brother’s best friend etc. I don’t know what should I do! Should I make the first move? What if he doesn’t like me? What if blablabla..

I am very very flattered that people trust me enough to divulge their love dilemmas to me BUT I AM NOT DEAR THELMA NOR BIG BRO NOR A LOVE COUNSELOR. I do not know how you should react to whatever dilemma you have because I don’t know who you are and who that guy is! How can I generalize things and tell you that ok guys like girls who are this this this or you should do this this this for him to like you!

Therefore, I welcome you telling me your love stories but please don’t ask me what to do T___T I don’t want to be held responsible if anything happens! What if I tell you to confess then things didn’t go as planned? walau then you make a voodoo doll of me and poke me in the eye how!

Hi Suet Li, I really like your blog!! Can I link you and can you link me back? I’m new in this blablabla

Thank you! Yes, if you want you can link me! But I’m veryyyy sorry I can’t link you back cause I only link people I actually know. Sorrrrrrry!

Can you add me into your mailing list for password protected posts?

Sorry the mailing list is closed! It defeats the purpose of having protected posts if I put everyoneee in it.

I read that you were fat once, how do you lose weight? How do you save money? How do you maintain your long distance relationship? How do you do your make up? How do you curl your hair?

wuwuwu so it’s either these people never read my blog before or they don’t really want to know enough to look through my archive T__T ok, there’s this search function up there. Key in anything you want to know and all the posts that have those words will magically appear! yays!

How do I apply for a scholarship to study in the UK/Australia/Thailand/New Zealand? Help me please I don’t have enough money to study overseas!! Also, can you help me think of how to write my statement for my application? I want to major in law/medicine/engineering!

I’m always very surprised to get these emails because for one, I’m not studying in any of those countries mentioned and not only that, I’m not even doing law/medicine/engineering! So sorry but I really don’t know how to help you here. And how can I think of how to write your application for you..

And finally, the most common question ever:

Why are you so against ADP?

This is probably my fault cause I mentioned in my faq post that I don’t recommend you doing ADP if you’re set on studying here in states. Reasons are as such:

1. ADP students who transfer here usually go to a state university (key word is usually, not ALL the time, so please read carefully) and state unis don’t normally give financial aid to international students. I have calculated the cost of doing ADP (2 years in malaysia, 2 years in the US) and the figure is a lot bigger than if I were to come here straight for 4 years. That’s cause if I come here as a freshman, I can apply to a college that gives me financial aid. But this rationale hinges upon sooo many other things. Some people prefer ADP cause they want to go to a bigger uni and they don’t give financial aid to freshmen anyway so it’s cheaper if you go through ADP etc.

2. Most colleges/unis accept fewer transfer students than freshmen so it’s easier to get into a college/uni (especially ivies and other top colleges) if you come straight instead of transferring.

So as you can see, I’m not totally against ADP. I just didn’t think (from my experience and some of my friends’) that ADP is the best choice if you really want to come to the states. Then again, it’s totally up to you and what kind of courses you are pursuing, what kind of college you want to go and a million other reasons.

I get countless emails demanding to know why ADP is not a good choice and I have to stress that it’s not a good choice in MY circumstances and this really differs on an individual level. Do not take my opinion and generalize it cause I’m only giving you my pov, and not your pov.

I feel compelled to put a disclaimer cause I’ve actually gotten emails from people who are already doing ADP and when I told them why I don’t like ADP, they started getting angry at me and said I belittle them. Like WTF?

Before you email me asking about ADP or American colleges in general, please do your own research and take what I tell you only as supplementary information. I am NOT an expert in this, I am not paid to do this and I’m only doing this to help so pleaseeee do not expect to be spoon-fed completely. Most of what I know is already in the FAQ page so please read it first.

When I get emails asking me to explain what I’ve already explained before, or emails that clearly sound like they haven’t done any research before and just expect me to feed them everything from A-Z, I feel really bad because I don’t like replying to those emails.
I don’t have all the time in the world and if I have to retell something that many resources on the net have done before, I might as well stop studying now and start my own company wtf.

I hope I don’t come off as stuck up or anything but Malaysians have been spoon-fed way too much. I still welcome emails about ANY question you have at all but only if you’ve shown that you have at least put in some effort.

OH! and it’ll be really nice if people actually thank me after I tell them what I know. Common courtesy I guess?

other questions about US colleges (financial aid/scholarships etc)

Can you pleaseeee check the colleges that you want to go to for more info please?? Each college has a very comprehensive website that has ALL the info that you need! Also, use Google! use USnews top colleges for a list of colleges in the US! Use the internetssssssssss

ok I can’t think of what other questions anymore but I’ll add to the list if I can think of any. If you want anything answered, let me know and I’ll add them in. Wah like superstar pula wtf got FAQ some more.

i think there are so much misunderstanding against adp cos if u’re eligible u can still apply scholarship as a transfer student. some are in vy generous portion. all u ppl need to do is FIND OUT from any colleges that specialized in adp (inti, taylor’s)or go MACEE. go ask their advisors and don’t flame the innocent suet since she is not obligated to answer all ur inquiries wtf

“That night, I had to kneel on the jagged ends of bottle caps as punishment for losing the pencils”.. Childhood experience affects what we will become.. maybe that is why you are hit by depression very frequently..

    aw says:

Buddhism (not Taoism) encourages you to ask questions, instead of asking you to shut up and believe based on “faith” or to convert you. Buddhism asks you to keep asking questions until you come to your own conclusions, instead of blindly following books written by some old perverted ah peks writing about sex or promises of 72 virgins.

Buddhism doesn’t promise you salvation just because some Big Guy in the sky forgives you or when you bomb people in his name. The Buddha suggests that the answer is within yourself: how to tell if something is right or wrong. The Buddhas guide you on the nature of life and how to be happy!

Maybe you can discover more! PS no need to convert, or donate money, or visit some temple or do some dancey praying ritual to learn about Buddhism. It’s FREE and all over the Intarweb.

May you be well and happy.

aw: no offence, but what you said is exactly what christians say too, especially your third paragraph.

    Jeff from LA says:

    Suet Li,

I am impressed with your patience. I would probably be a little more frustrated with all of these readers that criticize you over small things like ADP.

    Kim Ong says:

Happy VDay babe… so sweet of Barry to send you stuff while he’s away… you’re so in love.

I saw the over-80 number of comments on your “being thrifty” entry and this Bob reminds me of the two readers I had in that Wedding entry of mine recently then I suddenly thought to myself… “Wah, I’m getting as popular as pinkpau, suetli and kennysia now?”

Jeff from LA is right at you being patient.. if not patient then dun blog right… coz bloggers are opiniated and sometimes along the way, words are misconstrued.

Keep it up babe.. love reading. muahh..

    aw says:

Barry: None taken. But usually people only say that when they do want to mean to make offense. Hahaha.

There are a lot of things that are free. There are also a lot of things that are similar. That only makes sense, because Good (and Bad) is usually universally understood.

Most importantly, it was in response to Suet that said the religions she encountered wanted her to convert etc, and pulling her this way and that. So the intention was just to mention Buddhism and see if she wants to check out. There was no gun pointed at her head involved.

So if you found a philosophy or religion that promises those in my 3rd paragraph without requiring you to worship anything but compassion and truth itself, that sounds about good. If the brand of Christianity or other philosophy you come across does that, it’s probably worth checking out.
