High Table Dinner
Another pictorial post cause I have so many pictures collecting dust in my HK folder!

Finally using the heat patch my friends gave me! Woke up one day after handball with the sorest muscles ever so I put like ten patches all over my body T___T

I got a big bruise cause I fell during basketball T____T
Oh yeah so funny my friend saw the bruise and asked if I got too drunk last night and fell down wtf hahahha I do look like a party girl eh

Scraped my elbow also! damn pain T____T Somemore I went swimming in the sea after that (i’ve never swum in the ocean before!!!) with my roommate.

Got all dressed up cause there was a high table dinner yesterday! High table dinner is this tradition where everyone has to wear formal wear and we get to have a nice fancy dinner before adjourning to the assembly hall to hear a guest speaker speak. Ok the last part a bit ho hum but FANCY DINNER! DRESS UP!!
Too bad can only wear black =( I brought my nice fancy white dress but cannot wear boo!

Maria and I, waiting for our dinner to be served. 7 course meal yo

It was a huge event and everyone in our hall was there! Around 300 people!

The guy sitting next to me. He told me he plays basketball too and he said “you’ll see why later” and I was so confused but then he stood up..

WHOA!!! 6 feet 3 or something! Crazy tall people.

With Rex (Ser Siang) and Aaron!

Went to the assembly hall for the boring part.

Everything was in cantonese so we had these headphones where there’s an English version of what the speaker is saying! The translators were quite bad though, I guess it’s not easy to translate stuff on the spot.
After 10 minutes I couldn’t take it anymore so I listened to my mp3 player the whole time nyeheh

Maria texting, Maggie reading and Cari playing with her phone hahaha

Maggie and Cari!

After the boring speeches and talks, we had floor cheers! Every floor has to go up to introduce themselves and show their cheers. The hall spirit here is so crazy seriously. Every floor has their own song, cheers and name. This floor’s cheer was super funny!

Came back at 2 am but still had time to camwhore wtf. I felt so girly cause I had girly earrings and girly hairband!

Got fake lashes from Sasa! Haven’t worn one in ages cause so mafan but quite worth the trouble =)

I don’t get so made up all the time so must camwhore more! Actually I do get this made up a lot of times this semester already but what the heck
OH!! I edited this picture with xiuxiu:

Now I have blue eyes and super long lower lashes!! Look a bit fake though.
Tomorrow is mid-autumn festival! We’re going to watch fireworks and play with lanterns =D
Oh yeah, has anyone been to China before? Where do you think is the best place to visit? I think I’m going to go to Lijiang, Yunnan next next week! It’s quite expensive though but I get to see snow mountains ♥ Snow is my name wtf

anyway, go to Harbin to see LOTS of preeeeeettttyyy ice and snow statues. Damn cold tho. Temperature can reach -30 degree Celcius there. But it’s worth it
you can go visit the snow village (xue xiang) by taking a 4 hour train from Harbin (my experience on the train was quite horrible tho. It was damn packed I couldn’t even move!!). Xue xiang is good if u wanna play ski or snowboarding. Or just to see some thick thick snow. Hahaha…
Go to JiangXi also! Go there and visit Lu Shan and Huang Shan!

good choice! lijiang is very very nice!
it’s one of the best places to go in china if u opt for something not so city like.
it’s quaint and pretty in the day and at night it’s not lack of it’s charm too.
you’ll see lotsa blue tie-dye cloth there, it’s one of the ethnic souvenirs there.if it’s cheap lug one home with u =P
there’s a place called shangri-la in yunnan as well. it’s relli nice too!!
suet u look so pretty!! *shy*
aw man are you in lee hysan hall?? i knew those dorm rooms looked familiar. i was in hku for a semester and i stayed at the 13th floor of lee hysan. and as exchange students me and my roommate got the room with the best ocean view! i hope you have a great time in hk
a close by place to visit in china is yangshuo in guangxi province. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangshuo_County
it’s gorgeous and really close to guilin as well, another beautiful place. you can take the train to the hk-china border in shenzhen or guangzhou and then take the bus to yangshuo.
lijiang is amazing as well. if you need to find accommodation you should check out the mama naxi guesthouse. it’s in the old quarter of town and it’s run by a lovely naxi woman (mama naxi) and her husband and they reaaally treat you like their kids. as a parting gift everyone gets an amulet. and they have a really nice courtyard that you can lounge around in, and sweet kittens! AND meals are included and she’s an oooaaarrssommee cook!
i’m getting too excited so i will stop.
but seriously, have a great time. i’m gonna reminisce about those good old days now.
Wow! Very nice photo! I wish I could have ur hair! CIs~ Can donate to me or not..hahahah~
Lijiang is definitely worth going to.
Hangzhou too!!
Both cities have some FAB sceneries, and Lijiang’s “old town” is one of the most charming places i’ve been to in China.
wow, u’re getting prettier… love yr hair… how come it’s become thicker? gimme some of yr hair…
You should rub the bruise often so it would go down faster.. I always get bruises like that. Cos im incredibly clumsy. Run into tables or chairs or the end of the bed or slip and fall etc.. the list goes on :S

Its all in a days worth I guess?
Suet, that earrings sound familiar.
I got a pair like urs, but in pink.. wtf!
haha they must have the same interior decorators for all their older halls then.
well it was 3.5 years ago when i was in lijiang. but i remember spending a lot of time just exploring the old town by bicycle and foot. and the old town actually consists of the new/tourist quarter and the old/local quarter. mama naxi is in the old/local quarter so there is in general less tourists. the new/tourist quarter is pretty too, but in a man-made way. there is a cafe that you have to pay an entrance fee to get in but you can sit on their balcony which is higher up and you get a nice view of all the naxi rooftops. and then there’s the usual yulong shan and other tourist attractions.
outside of lijiang, if you have time, you should try going on the tiger leaping gorge trail. it takes about 2.5 days and you spend two nights in hostels along the way. it’s good if you could go with some other people, cos we met a guy who had gotten lost in the trail for 4 days… but the trail itself isn’t hard to walk as long as you don’t meander from it. the view is worth it though, especially towards the end. we stayed in a hostel (i think it’s called the happy hostel), where the menu contains an extensive amount of weed-infused meals. but the trail is such a different experience from what i’ve ever experienced before … a high wall of rock on the opposite side of the gorge that obstructs your view from everything else. lonely, peaceful paths that don’t see much people, and the tiger leaping gorge itself.. a scary and beautiful thing at the same time. and when you sit outside from sunset to nightfall… i dunno. i was the same age as you when i was there, and it changed me absolutely. i spent 6 weeks backpacking solo around china, and i grew up a bit as a result of that. but anyway, enough of this sap story.
you could also go to dali, which is a more chilled out version of lijiang.
i didn’t fly but if you are travelling around for longer i would suggest taking the train. the long distance hard sleeper train in china is a cheap, safe and efficient way to travel. not to mention you can mingle with the locals too if you want. i took the train from chengdu to kunming, then an overnight bus to lijiang. but i think there are trains that go from hongkong to kunming too. i think it’s the best way to travel if you’re not rushed for time. hope that helps
Lijiang is nice, have fun and take lots of pic at Snow Mountain… go to Lijiang anxient town, u can do many shopping
I have been there twice…
I’ve been to LiJiang/Yunnan. It’s beautiful.
Next you should visit Jiu Zhai Gou in SiChuan. even prettier!!
