paper 1 is per 40 since there are 40 questions, and paper 2 is per 50. i’m adding the marks accumulatively like what freddy said, to get the full marks which is a 90 for both papers combined. and then i divide it to get the percentage.

if the student only got 13 questions correct out of 90 questions (5 questions for paper 2 and 8 for paper 1), i’m pretty sure it does NOT equal to 30% mastery in total. hence 13/90.

Sorry for being obsessive, but your math calculation on your student’s exam paper is all wrong. 5/50+8/40 DOES NOT equal 13/90. Refer to basic rules of “pecahan” or fractions – the bottom numbers have to be identical before the top numbers get added. Therefore in this case, I can break down 5/50=1/10; and 8/40=2/10 so now 1/10+2/10 = 3/10. Therefore, this student’s percentage is 30% and NOT 14%. So he/she actually did better than you thought! I would go back and re-calculate all your students’ papers because I see you did the same error on all the other papers.

On the other hand, I do think that you’ve done something remarkable here. Your students are indeed lucky to have you as their teacher even if it is just for a short 2 years. All the best in your future endavours!

My heart goes to them who come forward on the question “sometimes I feel like killing myself”

I remember having suicidal thought at the age of 11/12. It was hard because I couldn’t talk about it because children “supposed” to be stress free. I hope the students stay strong.

Whenever you feel down, remember that you’re amazing for the things you did.
